The bar graph portrays the figures for imprisonment in five countries. It is recorded from 1930 to 1980.

First of all, figures for imprisonment by in Australia showed a fluctuation over the period of 50 years. In 1930, the figure was 100. Then, it rose gradually to about 130 in the next 10 years. But, the figure went down moderately in 1950 and increased slightly again in the next decade. The figure was about 115 in 1960. On the other hand, there was an upward trend by the figure for imprisonment of Great Britain. In 1940, the figure was approximately 30. The figure climbed up to about 65 in next 30 years. The figure peaked in 1980which was about 135 in that year.

Generally, the figures for imprisonment of Australia were fluctuating from 1930 to 1980. Meanwhile, an increasing trend was showed by the figures for imprisonment in Great Britain.
